The Cerveira ao Piano festival began in 2008 as a prestigious cultural event in the Minho region. It became a reference within the genre and, after a nine-year break, it returned in 2022 with the promise of never stopping.
Names such as José Cid, Jorge Palma, Wim Mertens, Rodrigo Leão, Rui Massena, among other keyboard virtuosos, have already performed on the stage of this festival. Cerveira ao Piano will fill the Vila Nova de Cerveira Municipal Auditorium (Auditório Municipal) with the fresh sounds of the piano during the hot summer months and is a great option for lovers of more erudite music.
To be announced...
It is in Vila Nova de Cerveira that the oldest Biennial of the Iberian Peninsula, created in 1978, takes place. This long tradition with the arts has led the town to become known as the "Arts Town", with more artistic initiatives taking place throughout the year.
Besides the arts, Cerveira also has a strong connection with the Minho river that borders it to the north. Not only through the infrastructures and tourist spots along its flow but also with the Minho river Water Museum (Aquamuseu) that provides information about its heritage.
