During the month of July, Cool Jazz will take over the Hipódromo Manuel Possolo, in Cascais. “Cool by Nature”, during seven days this festival will bring high-end artists for relaxed outdoor concerts, an inviting environment for warm summer nights.
The Hipódromo is the main space where the great shows of the evening will take place. However, the animation starts at late afternoon with the Cascais Jam Sessions at Marechal Carmona Park (in which the Hipódromo is inserted). These Sessions pair with a dinner in one of the many food stalls in the space. Next to the Park, in the garden of the Casa das Histórias – Paula Rego, the Cascais Lazy Sundays will take place every Sunday in July. The free entry DJ sets are open to everyone looking for a Sunday afternoon different from the usual.
This summer, if you are looking for a calmer but still cool festival, choose your day and pay a visit to Cascais.
To be announced...
As an entrance of the Tagus River, Cascais has kept to this day its status of luxury seaside resort. Status gained thanks to king Luís I of Portugal who turned the fortress of the citadel into the summer residence of the Portuguese Monarchy. Other noble people of the time followed his example and built beautiful villas and palazzos that can still be appreciated today.
A former fishing village, but still with its legacy of delicious fish and seafood, Cascais is now a modern and animated town which centre invites for a stroll, some shopping or even a bit of a rest in a terrace.
