Festival das Marés

Festival das Marés is a cultural and entertainment event in the parish of Mosteiros, in the Azores. This festival is an initiative of Fundação Brasileira (Brazilian Foundation), as a way of making known the work developed by the institution. This includes a concert by the Foundation with a renowned artist from the national artistic panorama.

The line-up includes leading names in Portuguese music, but also gives a strong focus to local and regional artists. During the days of the festival there are also activities linked to the sea, nature and local gastronomy and handicrafts for festival-goers to enjoy.

Besides the Festival das Marés (Tides Festival), the great celebration of the Brazilian Foundation during the summer, there are also other Tides during the other three seasons of the year. The Formative Tides in the Spring, the Philharmonic Tides in the Autumn and the Inclusive Tides in the Winter.

About the local

Known as the "Green Island", São Miguel is the largest island of the Azores archipelago and the largest island territory in Portugal.
