Vagos Metal Fest

The connection between Vagos and metal music is unavoidable and Vagos Metal Fest will celebrate that long term relationship once again in 2023. Quinta da Ega will host three days of metal specially curated for the lovers of heavier music.

Going beyond the music, it also offers camping, nautical activities and a Beer Garden offering craft beers made in Portugal. If you want to get yourself a permanent mark to always remember this memorable weekend, there will be tattoo artists on site. A visit to one of Costa Nova beaches is unskippable to refresh before a day filled with heavy and high-energy concerts. To the festival-goers planning to continue the party into the night, you won’t want to miss the Vagos Metal Fest after-parties led by Portuguese and international rock and metal DJs.

Head to Vagos this August and join what has already become a tradition to the followers of metal culture.

About the local

A municipality located in the Beira Litoral region, Vagos combines the sea, the forest and the river. With a coast line part of the Costa Nova area, it is still possible to appreciate Xávega art on its beaches, a traditional way of fishing. Afterwards, you can taste the grilled fish that was caught. On these same beaches you can also bathe or practice sea sports like surf.

Its historical connection with religion is still prevalent nowadays. Thousands of people attend the Vagos Festivals. The highlight is the pilgrimage to the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Vagos (Santuário da Nossa Senhora de Vagos) with the blessing of the "bodo" (food to be distributed by the poor).
